CHROMIUM
It is a trace mineral whose daily requirement has just recently been recognized. Traces of chromium are required by certain enzymes for ealth as part of a glucose tolerance factor. Chromium is responsible for the metabolism of glucose into energy and can boost the effectiveness of insulin. It is also needed by some of the enzymes involved in lipid and cholesterol metabolism. Chromium Picolinate is a nutrient that is useful to help the body burn fat and sugar more effectively. Chromium is found in brewer's yeast, brown rice, cheese, meat, mushrooms, potatoes (if the soil in which it is grown is rich in chromium) and whole grains.
A lack of chromium can result in:
Fatigue. Energy loss. Blood sugar imbalance and the symptoms of hypoglycemia, hyperglycemia and diabetes.
